Monday, June 11 NIGHT STARTS AT 10:50 AM
In the comedic style of "The Office" or the films of Christopher Guest, Chalk is a relatable spirited portrait of life in the trenches of that most honorable and frustrating profession . . . teaching. The film delicately navigates the classrooms of a cocky, yet self-conscious, hip, young teacher who is convinced he will win "Teacher of the Year;" an awkward rookie trying to maintain control over his class; a tough-ass gym teacher looking for love; and the well-intended (and newly appointed) assistant principle who is just not cut out for the drama currently bubbling amongst her staff. Written by two former teachers, Chalk delivers an enormous dose of heart and hilarity while evoking hope for America's most important institution.
