  • Gen Art Film Festival Awards Announced

    The jury and audience award winners at the 2nd Annual Gen Art Film Festival were announced on June 27 during closing night festivities. The Acura Grand Jury prize for shorts was awarded to Joe Wein for Goldfish, which was screened on Opening Night. Joe thanked Acura and the Festival for the $5,000 prize via video feed. The Acura Grand Jury prize for features was presented to Brian Hecker for Bart Got a Room, which also premiered on Opening Night. Brian, who had also returned to LA, accepted the $10,000 prize via speakerphone. The coveted audience award was also announced after all the last votes were tallied at the theater. Joe Wein collected this award for Goldfish and Mark Webber accepted the audience award for favorite feature, Explicit Ills.
