Last Night. Diesel Soho.
The Scene: New York's film industry insiders, tastemakers, and VIPs galore converge for the Official Launch Party for the Gen Art Film Festival.
I should admit, we were nervous. Over 1000 RSVPs for a venue with 250 capacity and forecasts for rain, rain, and more rain. But Diesel's tag, For Successful Living, must have been an omen, because the night was a lively success...
The guests of honor were of course the filmmakers: Terry Kinney, director of our Opening Night film Diminished Capacity, looked dapper in a classic leather and tweed cap and positively lit up when discussing his film with Festival Videographer David Jr. >see video
A handful of the cast from Nightlife, the Fest's Friday night mockumentary about the trials and tribulations of being a modern vampire, were in attendance along with Director Tim Sanderson.
Most irresistible were the boys from Frost, shaping up to be the biggest socialista buzz film of the fest. Frost follows twentysomething party boys on the guest list for every exclusive NYC party, and one can't help but suspect that the film is based on their reality. They're already earning a festival nickname of New York Entourage - only these guys are Drama-free.
