Tim Sanderson - Nightlife

Tim Sanderson - Nightlife

Tim Sanderson has been making films since he was twelve years old; many of them with his long time friend, and fellow director/screenwriter, Darren Scharf. Never having much money, he quickly learned how to improvise and make the most of what he had. Tim had to teach himself everything, and has been writing, directing, lighting, editing and working the camera since his first film. Tim has also worked on other films in Texas and New York doing everything from production assistant to cinematographer and more. Tim shot some early films on 16mm, but has since switched to the more versatile digital medium. Nightlife is his first feature film and the result of all the tricks of trade he learned over the years.

If we made a movie out of your life so far, what would the title be?
Running on Empty

You wake up tomorrow and movies no longer exist. What would we find you doing professionally?
Inventing movies. If that, theater, radio, and general storytelling were not available, I would be Macguyver. What ever Macguyver did for a living, that's what I'd do.

If you could have a drink with any character from a movie who would it be and why?
Ash, from the Evil Dead series. That would be a guy to get drunk and share stories with. And he would be good to have around if there were an incidental bar fight. I'm not saying we'd win, but it would sure be amusing.

What happened to advance your film from an idea on the page into a reality?
Friends, family, belief in the project, hard work, hook ups, improvisation (both on screen and off), electrocution, fires, second degree burns, bending the law, a lot of good and bad luck, and of course... money.
