Kurt is an award-winning filmmaker and composer of both feature and documentary films. He won a 2002 Nicholl Fellowship in Screenwriting from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences for his screenplay, Mason Mule, while another screenplay, Explode, made the quarterfinals in the same year. He is currently wrapping post-production on Dear Zachary, a documentary about the murder of his dear, late friend Dr. Andrew Bagby (1973-2001) and the unbelievable aftermath which rocked the Canadian province of Newfoundland to its core.
