Gary Walkow's first film, The Trouble with Dick was an homage to PHilip K. Dick. Next, he adapted Dostoevsky's Notes From Underground, and then went on to make Beat, a film about William and Joan Burroughs. In Crashing, he recycled the Trouble with Dick into Campbell Scott's first novel. After all, recycling might save the planet.
